The next day I was treated to lunch at Applebee's with my sweet sister-in-law Lilly. We like to meet up during our birthday week. We usually share the oriental chicken salad and have something else too. She gave me the cutest red purse. It has so many pockets. She had gone to a purse party. We had a wonderful time chatting.
The next day my nice mother-in-law took me and Dave out for lunch at LP's Kitchen in North Seattle. It was small but very good. They have seafood and greek dishes their. It was so cold that day. They had little heaters under the table.
My Wonderful Mom and Dad deposited $ into my checking account for my b-day and I went and had a manicure and a pedicure(those tickle) and had my hair colored and trimmed. Felt very spoiled. They also made me a card on the computer and it was so sweet they both wrote a nice poem to me.
A big present for myself was I finally opened up my flower shop or actually my floral studio on my birthday ! I've wanted to do it for years but I have been for the last 2 months getting supplies, getting my business license and set to go. I was just waiting for a wire service to accept me even though I don't have a store front yet. Root Wire accepted me a day before my birthday. They are small and I still need to be on a bigger service but for now they helped me get my business off the ground. I also got 2 floral warehouses to accept me to and willing to deliver to my home anyways.
Instead of cake my family gave me a weight watcher cupcake with a candle in it. Then we all split it in 4 pieces. The kids went to Treyvon's bowling party and we stopped in and wished him a happy birthday. Then we went to another one of my best friends Lili and her guy our friend Brett's. They made us dinner and dessert and we played a game called Buzz. We all get controllers and it plays like jeaopardy but way more fun. The next day Dave took me to see a movie and Chinese dinner.
Then we have had one of the biggest snowstorms in 10 years ! It looks like a wintery marshmellow land. It is an adventure to drive in.
I drove over to pick Heather up on one of the blustery wintery days and drove her home from work. She had been walking to work because they didn't have snow chains and her and Benito didn't want to drive in it. I don't blame them, it was so hard to drive in and I barely got there. I had chains but I almost didn't make it up their hill or out of our drive way ! They surprised me and gave me a beautiful pink sparkly poinsetta for my birthday too.
Ben's teenage sister buried him in the snow in our back yard. We live in an area where its pretty flat not on a hill so we don't usually have enough snow for a snowman but the kids had enough snow for a pretty big snowman they are very proud of. Pretty good for their first snowman with a lot of snow!

We had a little over the weekend but it melted away and not enough for a snowman. But last night around 5 pm the snowstorm finally hit. The news had the school so worried they closed the school before it started. Ben was relieved because he wanted more time to finish a project. I believe he prayed for the snow storm to be a big one! Ben had 3 snow days Wed-Friday. His Christmas Break has started !
About 5:30 kids scrap off windshield on car. About a half hour later foot prints are gone and windshield covered in snow. Click on pics to make them bigger.
The roads around the area of Seattle to Bellevue north and south, east and west have been crazy for all of the commuters trying to get to and from work. Buses have been jack knifing and people abandoning their cars.
Today they even had two buses almost fall onto I-5.
SEATTLE – Two chartered buses slid down an icy, snow-covered cobblestone street and crashed through a guardrail above Interstate 5 on Friday, stopping just before they would have plummeted onto the freeway 20 feet below.
Have a Wonderful Snowy Happy Weekend,

Heather and Benito stayed the night at our house and Dave drove them to the airport at 4:30 am Thanksgiving morning. They flew to Philly to visit Benito's relatives and see his baby/toddler cousin's get baptized. They took a lot of great pictures. Some are in New York and some are in Philly. Hope you enjoy the pictures. I really loved the ones they took at the Statue of Liberty. Heather didn't think they would be able to go since they only had a couple of days in New York, (they spent the other 4 days in Philly where Benito's Aunt and Uncles live) but they got up early and stood in a 2 1/2 hour line to see her. They also went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and saw the Liberty Bell and stood at ground zero too.
Carina and I went on a walk at Bothell Landing and got some pictures. If you click on the pictures they will enlarge. We like going on walks at local walking trails. This one is nice its only 3 miles away and we were lucky it was sunny out. Usually it is dark and grey outside and usually raining in the winter.
Well this year we decided to have Heather and Benito come over the week before Thanksgiving because they were going to fly to New York and Philadelphia on Thanksgiving day. They went to visit Benito's relatives and see 4 baby/toddler cousins get baptized.
Dinner was great and we didn't catch anything on fire this year! Previous two years the oven caught on fire after trying to cook a 33 lb Turkey and I don't remember what last years smoke alarm was for but anyway this year was better in my eyes but the kids still laugh when they think about Thanksgiving 2 years ago.
Then on Thanksgiving day this year we went to our friends Lili and Pauls place. Rosa loves having company over and asked her Mom to invite us so we were happy to go. Lili's fiance' made a peanut butter pie and Lili made a ham and a turkey ! The food was great and so was getting to visit with everyone.

Ben got to trick or treat with his friend Treyvon this year. Dave and Kirstin took the boys to the hill above our house and there are kids every where trick or treating so it is a lot of fun.
But they didn't collect much candy or they ate most of it by the time they got home here. They don't see each other much since Treyvon's family moved, so the boys were wanting to get back and play video games.Carina, Heather, and Benito went over to Tashina party but I did get a few pictures of them before they left.
Heather loves Harvest cookies so she decided to make some before the party. The cookies are pumpkin and chocolates chips with walnuts they are yummy !
Nancy is so creative, she made this cute Halloween wall decoration. The little spiders in the web are red and sparkle. I just love it! If you click on the picture you can blow it up and see it better and if you click on the corner again upper left you can see the little red spiders.
Another tradition we do that most everyone does
is carve pumpkins. Here are our creations this year.
We have a New 44th President Elect
& Vice President ! We watched history last night when the votes came in the USA has our first African American President. Ben wanted to stay up and watch the results and we let him stay up and watch the speeches too.
We made a celebration cake too !
pps.A couple of the pictures I took were from our tv and the others from a news site.
ppps. The only thing is I didn't vote for president because of the views of my Church and I was struggling deciding so I just didn't vote for president, but I am happy he has won. This is a copy of the email that President Obama sent out to his volunteers across the country, before he walked on stage to give his victory speech. I didn't volunteer but I did donate and I did send emails to Republican friends that were sending me smear emails, I'd send them them to Obama's site for the correct info but I was still excited to get his email. Since this is part of the history we watched and I might lose my email account I'm going to save it here:

I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.
We just made history.
And I don't want you to forget how we did it.
You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.
I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.
We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.
But I want to be very clear about one thing...
All of this happened because of you.
Thank you,
Barack
